ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Supports the Principal Psychometrician in the analysis and scoring of the March 2026 Certifying
Examination to ensure reliability, validity, and fairness.
Develops and runs computer programs for Certifying Examination scoring, including equating, item
analysis, and reporting, and reviews results for accuracy as directed by the Principal
Psychometrician.
Performs quality control analyses on the March 2026 Certifying Examination scoring as directed
by the Principal Psychometrician.
Drafts summaries, reports, or communications related to the analysis of the Certifying Examination for the ABEM Board of Directors as directed by the Principal Psychometrician.
Performs additional examination scoring and analysis-related duties as assigned.
This position is expected to work remotely within the United States.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Ph.D. in psychology, psychometrics, testing, educational measurement, or a related field, focused
on quantitative analysis or psychometrics, or equivalent education and experience.
A minimum of four years of increasingly responsible professional experience with at least two
years in psychometrics and/or quantitative data analysis. Experience with certification
examinations preferred.
Expertise in exam scoring, measurement, and social science research.
Advanced knowledge and experience working with statistical, analytic, and general-purpose
software (R, SAS, or Python).
